How is King played?
King is played by four with a 52 card deck, 13 cards each. Each hand, one player in turn chooses what it is played for: a penalty game or a trump hand.
- The choice: each player may choose each of the 6 penalty games once and a trump hand twice: 32 hands in all.
- Play: the chooser leads. You must follow suit; without the suit, play anything. Whoever takes a trick leads the next.
- Taking a trick: in penalty games the highest card of the suit led; in a trump hand the highest trump.
